I took this shot a couple mornings ago in the ditch in front of a neighbor’s house. If my neighbors saw me, they probably wondered what I was doing on my knees. At the end of their driveway. In the freezing cold. Taking pictures of weeds. Then again, they’ve seen me out taking photos on other frozen mornings, maybe they wouldn’t have given it another thought.
The plants are called horse tails. Oregon pioneers called them “pot scrubbers,” and used them for just that purpose.
I dinked with this picture in post processing with Photo Explosion – color and light balance, and a spotlight lens. The coloring was dull before, but now I kinda like the shot. It looks like someplace Tinkerbell the Disney faerie might want to visit. Ooh. Now that would be a photo op…
